You're Just Another Brick in the Wall

PINK FLOYD
Album:  THE WALL 1979

Another Brick in the Wall
Lyrics
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey, teachers, leave them kids alone
All in all it's just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall

We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom

Teachers leave those kids alone
Hey teachers, leave those kids alone
All in all you're just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall

"Wrong, do it again! Wrong, do it again!"
"If you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding
How can you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?"
"You, yes, you behind the bike sheds, stand still, laddy"

PR for the group claims the meaning of the song is as follows:
The wall refers to the emotional barrier Waters built around himself because he wasn't in touch with reality. The bricks in the all were the events in his life which propelled him to build this proverbial wall around him, and his school teacher was another brick in the wall.

However...  I believe that is bullshit and put together by the group's PR team to promote their non traditional personalities.  FOR ME, the general public in any country are so meaningless to their respective societies that each citizen represent another meaningless brick in the wall of life.  We are bricks in a wall that is built by power and control and wealth...  This song has an existential approach to life and no matter how hard we try to prevent what is going to happen to us, we all eventually become just another brick in the wall.
