(CNN)Aliens definitely exist, Britain's first astronaut has said -- and it's possible they're living among us on Earth but have gone undetected so far.

Helen Sharman (left), who visited the Soviet Mir space station in 1991, told the Observer newspaper on Sunday that "aliens exist, there's no two ways about it."

"There are so many billions of stars out there in the universe that there must be all sorts of different forms of life," she went on. "Will they be like you and me, made up of carbon and nitrogen? Maybe not."

Then, in a tantalizing theory that should probably make you very suspicious of your colleagues, Sharman added: "It's possible they're here right now and we simply can't see them."

Sharman was the first of seven Britons to enter space.

Maybe you've never seen any space aliens, but recent polls indicate that up to 6 percent of Americans claim to have been abducted by them. The experience doesn't sound pleasant. The extraterrestrials are often said to take their captives to their saucers, lay them out on a table and extract sperm from the men and impregnate the women.

But an instructor at the University of Oxford in England believes the abductions are real. Young-hae Chi, who teaches Korean at the university, also claims to know what the aliens have in mind. In lectures given at the university, he says they're creating alien-human hybrids as a hedge against climate change. To support his unorthodox theory, Chi notes that for several decades the number of reported alien abductions has risen. Alan Dershowitz files $300 million defamation suit against CNN

Famed attorney and Harvard Law School Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz filed a defamation suit against CNN on Tuesday seeking $300 million for what he called a "willful, deliberate, malicious effort to destroy my credibility."

Dershowitz told Fox News that CNN selectively edited a clip of his remarks from the Senate floor during President Trump's impeachment trial where he broke down the illegalities surrounding a "quid pro quo" as a member of the president's defense team.

The constitutional scholar alleges in the lawsuit that the news outlet propagated a “sea of lies” by re-airing only part of his quote, which he believes was part of a deliberate effort "from the very top" to frame him for claiming “that the President of the United States could commit illegal acts as long as he thought it would help his reelection and that his reelection was in the public interest," The Wrap reported.

"What CNN did here, and it pains me to say this because, you know, I have friends over there, what they did is they just totally doctored the tape," Dershowitz told Sean Hannity on Tuesday.

"If they had just shown the part where I said if he does anything illegal he can be impeached -- Dershowitz trailed off, "but they doctored the tape to take that out."

Dershowitz said he plans to donate any awarding to "charities and to good causes," emphasizing that he's not doing this for himself.

"I'm doing this to hold them accountable," he explained. "They made a deliberate, willful decision we believe from the very top to purposely doctor the tape to make it look like I said something that was crazy, that a president can do anything, that he can commit crimes.

"Of course I never said that — I don’t believe it. I spent an hour in front of the Senate two days earlier saying if the president commits a crime he can be impeached and that was a whole thesis of my presentation," Dershowitz said.

On the Prowl

The search is on for a tiger spotted in Knoxville, Tennessee

Authorities in Knoxville, Tennessee, are still searching for a tiger that was spotted on Wednesday night in an industrial park.  A Knox County Sheriff's Office deputy saw the animal at the Forks of the River Industrial Park on the east side of the city, according to a news release.  Another sighting was reported on Thursday morning, a few miles away, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA).

A wildlife officer is patrolling the area, but there have been no further sightings or signs of the animal, TWRA spokesman Matt Cameron told CNN.  The TWRA set a trap to try to catch the tiger, but removed it at about noon on Thursday because there wasn't any activity, Cameron said.

The agency is asking residents in the area to check the footage from their security cameras to see if they caught a glimpse of the big cat, the spokesman said.  Sheriff's patrol units and AirWatch searched for the tiger along with the Knoxville Police Department's Animal Control, the sheriff's office said.

Representatives from Tiger Haven, a no-kill tiger sanctuary in Kingston, Tennessee, are helping with the search, according to the sheriff's office. Tiger Haven is about 50 miles southwest of where the tiger was spotted.

CNN affiliate WVLT reports that Knoxville police dispatch got several calls overnight from people who thought they saw the tiger, and crews responded to one call on Thursday morning.
It's not known where the tiger came from.

Zoo Knoxville, in a Facebook post on Thursday morning, said that it wasn't one of its big cats .
"We want to reassure everyone that our Zoo Knoxville Malayan tigers Arya, Bashir and Tanvir are all safely accounted for. Our team is standing by to assist if needed," the zoo wrote.  The sheriff's office is urging residents to contact them if they see the tiger.

I did not know what COGNITIVE DISSONANCE was so I had to look it up, it means:  the state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs, or attitudes, especially as relating to behavioral decisions and attitude change.

An example of COGNITIVE DISSONANCE:

Cognitive Dissonance produces a feeling of mental discomfort leading to an alteration in one of the attitudes, beliefs or behaviors to reduce the discomfort and restore balance. For example, when people smoke (behavior) and they know that smoking causes cancer (cognition), they are in a state of cognitive dissonance.

What causes COGNITIVE DISSONANCE:
It may also happen when a person holds two beliefs that contradict one another. Cognitive dissonance causes feelings of unease and tension, and people attempt to relieve this discomfort in different ways. Examples include “explaining things away” or rejecting new information that conflicts with their existing beliefs.

It would appear that Don Lemon has COGNITIVE DISSONANCE when it comes to understanding and accepting the fact that people hold different beliefs that he holds, relative to President Trump and the Republican Political Party...

This is HIS PROBLEM that he is now trying to project on others who do not share his beliefs or political convictions.

If I am not mistaken, this is actually referred to as EXERCISING OUR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS...
