American Education

Education in America is lacking from a variety of reasons but mainly it is based upon teaching high school students what they need to know to go to college and teaching college student what they need to know to go to graduate school and teaching grad students what they need to know to further their education with a doctorate degree...

Education does not teach students what they need to know to be successful in the marketplace if students are not interested in going to college...

Military education outside of operating a tank or firing a variety of different weapons is excellent, especially those who want to become pilots.  So, it is not a bad idea to graduate from high school and go into the military and receive a technical education...

It is even possible to stay in the military and using the University of Phoenix acquire a bachelors and masters degrees before one's 20 year commitment ends.  Then, one can spend another 20 years in the business marketplace and have 2 retirements plus social security if they select the right second employer.  All one needs is to work for 40 quarters or 10 years to receive social security.

Education in America because of the focus on higher and higher education teaches students to memorize for the "A" then forget so they can memorize again.  Students have straight "A's" but have retained very little.

WORLD DOMINATION BY 2035

With mistrust pervading the U.S.-China relationship, it seems that nearly any Chinese action stokes suspicions of malicious intent, especially anything involving advanced technology. As 5G, AI, and emerging technology have become buzzwords, policymakers have started to pay more attention to a previously obscure piece of the technology development process: technical standards. 

In particular, U.S. officials have been concerned about China’s increased participation in technical standards development work and the government’s forthcoming plan, China Standards 2035. In a climate of heightened fear and uncertainty, it is easy to see boogeymen lurking behind every corner. As policymakers seek to separate true threats from long shadows, it is important to distinguish Chinese posturing and proclamations from real risks. In short, don’t believe China’s own hype.

As policymakers have become increasingly concerned about the potential connection between technical standards and China’s technological advantage, focus on China Standards 2035 has heightened. However, in order to assess these concerns, it is important to first understand the international standards system. The technical standards community lives by the tenets of industry leadership, openness, rules-based, consensus decision making, and voluntary adoption of international standards. 

The whole system rests on the premise that any interested stakeholder can come to the table to cooperate and compete, proposing contributions that enable products and services to work for consumers around the globe while safeguarding against undue dominance of any one player. Consumers reap the benefits of this everyday—for example, international standards ensure that your laptop can connect to Wi-Fi in the United States and Japan; or that an HDMI cable can plug into any TV, regardless of brand name. That’s the goal of standards development—to enable interoperability across markets, so that consumers and companies can take full advantage of the latest technology at competitive prices.  READ MORE

Going to College

Average cost of a College Education is about $40,000 for tuition and another $12,000 for room and board making the total cost about $50,000 a year and it takes 4 years to complete a college degree so the final cost would be about $200,000...  or about the cost of an average home.  The average salary for a college graduate is $50,000 annually or after taxes about $3,334 each month.  And, the average cost of living about $2,500 to $3,500 depending upon one's location and their style of living.

NOW...  if one were to borrow $200,000 to buy a home and agreed to payments for 30 years, the monthly charge would be a little over $1,000.

If you are a single college graduate earning $50,000 a year and living with monthly expenses of $2,500, you would still not have enough money to pay $1,000 on your student loan debt.

However, you have choices:

• Find a job where you would earn more than $50,000 a year
• Extend you student debt loan to greater than 30 years
• Share your expenses with a roommate

Of course, there are other ways to make the financial burden of college work.  You could first spend time in the military and use the GI Bill to attend college.  You could work during the day and go to college at night either in the classroom or online.  You could go to a Community College for your first two years and attend a public college near where you live where the in-state tuition is much less.

In TN for example, if you attend a Community College, you pay no tuition for your first two years which can save an enormous amount of money and then transfer your credit to another College or University for the last two years.

OR...  you could select a profession where you do not need a college degree at all...

OR...  you could join the military after high school and spend 20 years there where you could use the military to help pay for your education...  If you joined at 18, you would be 38 when you could retire and either use your military training or education or both to work another career for 20 years, retiring a second time at 58...

The point is that a College Education is not always the best direction to take...

The answer is NO...

In each of the countries do their citizens enjoy:

• the best medical care
• the best educational programs
• the best recreational programs
• the best entertainment programs
• the best military protection
• the best religious freedoms
• the best economic opportunities
• the best quality of life
• the best housing available

According to Investopedia:
Capitalism and socialism are economic systems that countries use to manage their economic resources and regulate their means of production.

Capitalism is based on individual initiative and favors market mechanisms over government intervention, while socialism is based on government planning and limitations on private control of resources.

Socialism needs Capitalism in order to exist...  but, at some point-in-time, Capitalism is going to find that Socialism encourages unproductive employees...  While Amazon and Ebay and Google think that they have excellent employees, the services and extras provided by those companies will eventually wear thin and they will start balking at the amount of work that is facing them, especially when employees cannot really be fired...

There is no competition in Socialism and competition drives capitalism...

While China is considered to be Socialistic, it is still controlled by the COMMUNIST PARTY and even China is discovering that Capitalism helps their economy more than Socialism as they make a bid to replace the USA as the global leader militarily and economically.

In his first order of the new year to the country’s armed forces, Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the need for “full-time combat readiness” and said the People’s Liberation Army must use frontline frictions to polish troop capabilities.  Xi, who also chairs China’s  Central Military Commission (CMC), the top command body, said the PLA must be ready to “act at any second” as the country’s armed forces kicked off the year’s military training and exercises on Monday.

Marijuana will eventually be legalized nationally...

Illegal Drugs will continue to increase...

Immigration into USA will continue to increase...

Healthcare Resources will become limited and scare...

The Baby Boomers will continue to bleed out Social Security

Urban Crime will continue to increase

America is and has been in trouble for a long time...  and, it is easy to see in how politicians respond to the general public versus what actually gets done...  America's debt is on the increase and the stimulus pandemic checks did not help any...  in fact, they made the situation worse...

For example,

My wife and I are both retired and living on Social Security and other income, neither of which has been damaged because of the shutdowns...  However, we received 2 stimulus check, neither of which did we need...  and, all we did we shift the funds from checking into savings...  and spent NOTHING.

White America plays politics between the liberals and the conservatives with the Independents, Libertarians, and Socialists creating more HAVOC than good, the rest of the world is GROWING and BUILDING their economies and militaries and their educational abilities...

For example,

there are more foreign countries with students involved in STEM education than there are American students involved in STEM education.

Somedays You Get The Bear -- Somedays The Bear Gets You

There were 3 diplomats attending a conference in Asheville, North Carolina:  An American, A Russian, and a Chinese.  Half way through the conference and after lunch, these 3 diplomats found themselves with an afternoon free, so they decided to journey along one of the walking paths near the conference center.  After 30 minutes into their journey, they came across a large open clearing and as they stood their wondering how this might have happened since it was obviously not man-made, a large black bear was on all fours on the other side.  

Just as soon as the black bear started growling, he stood up on his back legs making him a good 8 feet tall...  the Chinese diplomat kneeled down on the ground and started tightening the shoe laces of both his shoes.  Seeing this, the Russian diplomat laughed and looked at the American diplomat who said to the Chinese diplomat, "tightening your shoe laces is not going to help you out run the bear sir."  The Chinese diplomat upon finishing his task stood up and said, "I do not have to out run the bear gentlemen, I just have to out run one of you two."

It is often said that perceptions are different, depending upon where one was raised and where one lives but the perception instinct of survival is paramount in all of us...  or, if not, it should be.

The future of our world largely depends on how these three main countries get along, that is to say, the United States, Russia, and China even though there are many other countries that could form alliances, these 3 countries will control the world and control how it evolves whether the rest of the countries in the world like it or not.

Actually, control of the world will fall between the United States and China as they will have the world's largest economies and the world's largest militaries...   and, it would appear that both these countries are willing to use both if they ever need it.

However, the United States is at a disadvantage...  more so than China because there is a movement growing in the United States to make more services available to the people.  If this movement takes root and grows, monies will be diverted from the economy and the military to provide the people what they are demanding and claim they need.

China does not have this problem and never will because the Chinese people are not of a big concern to the Chinese government.

In essence, the Chinese are in the process of tightening their shoe laces so that they can not only out run Russia but also outrun the United States of America who right now, is their ARCH ENEMY.

The other issue that will soon PLAGUE the United States is their NATIONAL DEBT of which ONE THIRD is owned by China, giving the Chinese the definite CHESS GAME advantage over the Americans.  The US Debt must be paid off at some point-in-time or the USA runs the risk of devaluing the US Dollar which will have devastating short and long term consequences...

Right now, the two political parties that are battling it out for control:  the Republicans and the Democrats are not addressing the DEBT CRISIS at all but rather focusing on GLOBAL WARMING and CLIMATE CHANGE and as they brace themselves to take on that problem, neither party has any concept of how much it will cost...  other than planning on their wealthy citizens to pay for it all.

Again...  this gives the CHINESE a triple advantage...   and, it is just a matter of time, before we see how it actually plays out.

When I was in the military 1969-1974, SNAFU was a term that was used often by officers and enlisted alike...  It was the way it was...  real...  and truthful...

Throughout my entire working career of 45 years, SNAFUs happened all the time, some worse than others, but they seem to be an integral aspects of the corporate marketplace...

Fifty Years Younger

If this were to be the case, then I would be 22, the year would be 1969 and I would be leaving College and entering the military, specifically the US Navy and more importantly the US Navy Reserves where my contract was referred to as a 2 by 4...  meaning, 2 years active duty, 4 years in the reserves...  and actually, I only spent 21 months on active duty because I was awarded a 3 month early out to return to College...  looking back, active duty was a piece-of-cake and not because I only spent 21 months on active duty but because I was in the reserves for a year before I went on active duty so instead of boarding the ship as an E-1, I boarded the ship as an E-4 and was considered RATED....  this meant a couple of things, I was a Petty Officer, I could not be assigned grunt work if I was to get EMI which I did several times, and I did not have to spend any time working in the galley like all the other newbies did...

EMI - was Extra Military Instruction - this was assigned not just if you screwed up but if you broke or bent the rules...  For example, I was in communications so when we were in port, we had to go on message runs several times a day to pick up our messages.  One time, after picking up the messages we decided to go drink our lunch and did not get back to the ship until quitting time...  We were both awarded EMI...  but since we were both rated, our EMI had to be done in our field so we were told to burn old de-classified messages...  We decided to have some fun so we found some coat hangers and stole some hotdogs out of the galley and roasted them while burning...  The Communications Officer just shook his head but said and did nothing.

But, back to the point...
If I were fifty years younger, this is what I would be doing...
