Tokyo Olympics

North Korea has announced it will not take part in the Tokyo Olympics this year, saying the decision is to protect its athletes from Covid-19.  The decision puts an end to South Korea's hopes of using the Games to engage with the North amid stalled cross-border talks.

In 2018, both sides entered a joint team at the Winter Olympics which led to a series of historic summits.  Pyongyang says it has no cases of the virus but experts say this is unlikely.  The country's health system is thought to be completely inadequate for dealing with the Covid pandemic, the BBC's Tokyo Correspondent Rupert Wingfield-Hayes reports.

The announcement makes North Korea the first major country to skip the delayed 2020 Games because of the pandemic. The event is due to begin on 23 July. This will be the first time North Korea has missed a Summer Olympics since 1988, when it boycotted the Seoul Games during the Cold War.

Hopes dashed
Pyongyang's decision was made at an Olympic committee meeting on 25 March, according to a report by the state-run site Sports in the DPRK.  However, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said it had not "received an official application" from North Korea to step back from the Games.

It added that despite repeated requests, the country's National Olympic Committee had failed to "hold a telephone conference during which the Covid-19 situation in North Korea should also have been discussed".  North Korea has taken stringent measures against the virus since it broke out last year. It shut its borders in late January and later quarantined hundreds of foreigners in its capital.

Since early last year, trains and wagons have been forbidden to enter or leave North Korea, with most international passenger flights stopped as well.

There were hopes from South Korea's President Moon Jae-in that the Games could be a catalyst for progress between both Koreas. That had been the case in 2018, when North Korea sent 22 athletes to the Winter Olympics in South Korea, along with government officials, journalists and a 230-member cheering group.  Among the contingent was North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's sister, Kim Yo-jong - a move which helped it initiate diplomacy with South Korea and the US.  READ MORE

It would appear that President Biden does not care about the USA as a WHOLE COUNTRY, only his party, the Democrats, and the Socialists that are pulling his strings...  what he does not fully grasp is the fact that 50% of the people DID NOT VOTE FOR HIM and those people will not stand idle as he moves in another direction.

The more he moves in the direction into which he is currently moving, the more they will resist him and the more DIVIDED our country will become...   A divided country is NOT STRONG...

Let Them Have NUCLEAR

 

If North Korea wants to be a nuclear power, then the USA should let them have what they want...  and, we should let Iran become a nuclear power as well....

We all want to get to HEAVEN as soon as we can to live an everlasting life with our Creator...   and, this direction would certainly help us get there faster than if we tried to prevent this from happening...

Conservative Liberalism

 I am a CARD CARRYING LIBERAL...  and if I had my way then all Illegal Drugs would be legal...  

Many would probably say that it is a good thing that I don't have my way because it is not a good idea to legalize all illegal drugs...  simply because the American Public does not know how to control their desires and impulses...  and, while I agree with that...  I agree with it on the basis of age and quite possibly service in the military.

Once an individual reaches the age of 21 or even 25, they are old enough to make their own damn decisions INSTEAD OF OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.    

As far as MY MONEY is concerned, I have NO DEBT and have been debt free for almost 20 years.  I have learned to manage a lifestyle in such a way that I pretty much do whatever the hell I want to do and hardly ever anything less and seldom to never anything more.  I don't need or should I say, I no longer need to DO MORE to enjoy myself.

• I can fly anywhere in the contiguous United States I want 2-3 times a year.
• I can go on a week long vacation every other month.
• I can eat out at a restaurant 2-3 times a week.
• My wife and I have been on 10 Cruises (Caribbean, Mediterranean, Hawaii, Alaska)
• My wife and I have visited:  Italy, Greece, Turkey, France, Switzerland, England, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Canada
• My wife and I have been to Hawaii and Vegas 3 time

We have been retired since 2015 and SIMPLY LOVE receiving STIMULUS MONEY from the Federal Government and have used that money to BUY SHIT we don't need which is violating my concept of not needing more; but, since someone else is going to pay for our extravagances, we don't mind doing what we did.

My conservative side says that IMMMIGRATION is a problem but as long as they stay away from EAST TN, we really don't give a damn where they relocate.  BUT, since the damn illegals are in this country, then we might as well take care of them...  neither my wife nor I want to take care of any, but everyone else can help themselves.

I hope that the BIDEN ADMINISTRATION helps the North Koreans become a NUCLEAR POWER...  It is my liberal belief that the more nuclear powers that we have in the world the less other countries will want to acquire territory.  Perhaps the North Koreans can then help IRAN become Nuclear and other Middle Eastern countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Syria.

Muslim Terrorist will never present a HUGE problem to the United States as long as America's Christians convert to ISLAM.  And, whose to say that GOD did not intend for ISLAM to become a global religion in the first place.  However, I do not think that the MUSLIM who practice Islam should FORCE THEIR BELIEFS on ATHEISTS who have no beliefs at all.

CHINA wants to control the world and I, for one, think that we should let them do whatever it is that they want to do as long as Americans can still have their SOCIALISTIC LIFESTYLE.  I doubt that the CHINESE government would ever pass out stimulus checks but they should not interfere if the USA wants to continue the process.

Healthcare Resources will become limited and scare...

Urban Crime will continue to increase

America is and has been in trouble for a long time...  and, it is easy to see in how politicians respond to the general public versus what actually gets done...  America's debt is on the increase and the stimulus pandemic checks did not help any...  in fact, they made the situation worse...

For example,

My wife and I are both retired and living on Social Security and other income, neither of which has been damaged because of the shutdowns...  However, we received 2 stimulus check, neither of which did we need...  and, all we did we shift the funds from checking into savings...  and spent NOTHING.

White America plays politics between the liberals and the conservatives with the Independents, Libertarians, and Socialists creating more HAVOC than good, the rest of the world is GROWING and BUILDING their economies and militaries and their educational abilities...

For example,

there are more foreign countries with students involved in STEM education than there are American students involved in STEM education.

The missiles highlighted how the North has continued to expand its military capabilities during a stalemate in nuclear negotiations with the Trump administration.

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un warned that his country would “fully mobilize” its nuclear force if threatened as he took center stage at a military parade that unveiled what appeared to be a new intercontinental ballistic missile and other weapons.

Kim, however, avoided direct criticism of Washington during Saturday's event, which celebrated the 75th anniversary of the ruling party and took place less than four weeks before the U.S. presidential election. Instead, he focused on a domestic message urging his people to remain firm in the face of “tremendous challenges” posed by the coronavirus pandemic and crippling U.S.-led sanctions over his nuclear program.

Kim described the North’s continuing efforts to develop its nuclear deterrent as necessary for its defense and said it wasn’t targeting any specific country.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made a dramatic announcement during her weekly press conference Thursday by telling reporters that she intends to discuss a constitutional measure to remove President Trump from office, following questions regarding Trump's health as he recovers from coronavirus.

The 25th Amendment allows for the vice president to become acting president if is determined that the president "is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office."

"Tomorrow, by the way, tomorrow, come here tomorrow," Pelosi said. "We're going to be talking about the 25th Amendment."

The president fired back in a Thursday afternoon tweet.

As a fellow Democrat, I am embarrassed at the lengths that the DEMOCRATS in this country will go to in order to remove TRUMP from office.  Pelosi's statement is not one that I would expect to be spoken by a religious woman or who had the best interests of the country in mind.  She claims that TRUMP is divisive but this statement is only made to create division and place doubt in the minds of the voter...

November 3 is not that far away but the results of that election will be felt for years to come no matter who wins or who the Supreme Court says won the election.

I don't like Trump's tweets nor do I like his personality and how he scandalizes the office of the President of the United States...  but, he is not the first one to do this....  Actually, John F. Kennedy was the first one to do this followed by Clinton, both of whom were Democrats.

BUT,

one issue is FOR CERTAIN, if Biden wins our taxes will increase...

YES...  Biden says taxes will be raised making more than $400,000 annually and that is TRUTH

BUT.

Biden also says he will remove the tax cuts on businesses, individuals, and family which once removed will cause those under $400,000 to pay more in taxes as well...

REMOVING TAX CUTS does cause taxes to go up even though taxes have not been increased...

Removing TRUMP's tax cuts will force Businesses to hire less people to pay those taxes that the tax cuts took away.

Businesses must generate profits for Stockholders, New Products, Plant and Equipment, etc...  so, labor will be reduced to COMPENSATE...

Either less new hires or lay-offs...

For those of you who have 401K's or other retirement investments through your employers or on your own, with a Biden Election and increase taxes on businesses, the Stock Market will plunge like it did in 2008 and if Obama did in fact, leave a growing economy for TRUMP like they claim, it took the STOCK MARKET 8 years to regain what it had lost...  and that was without any new taxes...

A lot can happen in 8 years...

• The wealthy will shelter their taxable income in tax free offshore bank accounts
• The wealthy will reduce contributions to NON PROFITS
• More Money will have to be borrowed from CHINA
• CHINA's current economy is almost as large as the economy of the USA
• CHINA's military is bigger than the military of the USA
• Previous trade deals favored foreign countries not American Farmers and Citizens
• Iran will achieve its NUCLEAR goals
• Russia will start acquiring territory because Democrats don't like hurt their enemies
• Terrorism in the Middle East will escalate and grow without a strong US presence
• The global economy will shift toward CHINA and the centers of global commerce will not longer be NEW YORK CITY and LAS ANGELES
• TRUMP's wall will be torn down
• Immigration will increase into the USA
• Democrats want FREE MEDICARE for all Illegal Immigrants
• Democrats want FREE EDUCATION

The 2020 Index again assesses the threat emanating from Russia as “aggressive” in its behavior and “formidable” (the highest category on the scale) in its growing capabilities. Moscow continues to engage in massive pro-Russia propaganda campaigns in Ukraine and other Eastern European countries, actively supports separatist forces in Ukraine, regularly performs provocative military exercises and training missions, and continues to sell and export arms to countries that are hostile to U.S. interests. It also has increased its investment in modernizing its military and has gained significant combat experience while continuing to sabotage U.S. and Western policy in Syria and Ukraine.

China, the most comprehensive threat the U.S. faces, remained “aggressive” in the scope of its provocative behavior and earns the score of “formidable” for its capability because of its ongoing military modernization and buildup. The People’s Liberation Army continues to extend its reach and military activity beyond its immediate region and engages in larger and more comprehensive exercises, including live-fire exercises in the East China Sea near Taiwan. It also has continued to conduct probes of the South Korean and Japanese air defense identification zones, drawing rebukes from both Seoul and Tokyo. In addition, there is little evidence that Chinese cyber espionage and computer network exploitation have abated.

Iran remains the state actor that is most hostile to American interests in the Middle East. The 2020 Index assesses Iran’s behavior as “aggressive” and its capability as “gathering.” In the years since publication of the 2015 Index, Iran has methodically moved closer to becoming a nuclear power, and it continues to enhance its ICBM, missile defense, and unmanned systems capabilities. Iran also continues to perpetuate and exploit instability to expand its influence in the region, both in its direct involvement in regional engagements and through its proxies, particularly in Syria. This year also saw aggressive activity in the Strait of Hormuz, including the downing of a U.S. drone in international airspace and attacks on merchant shipping.

North Korea’s level of behavior remained “testing” in the 2020 Index. North Korea’s capability level has also remained at “gathering” as Pyongyang continues to develop and refine its missile technology, especially in the area of submarine-launched ballistic missiles.
