Rain in the Valley

For the last two days, it has rained  at our location in East TN which is considered the Tennessee Valley because we are just west of the foothills of The Great Smokey Mountains...  We are protected here from harsh weather because of those mountains to our east and the Cumberland Plateau to our west...  making it damn near ideal throughout the year...  but and it is unusual, we have been deluged by rain totally a good inch or more because our above ground pool needs to have some water drained out of it.
I managed to mow the grass before it rained but as soon as the sun appears, it will need to be mowed again which is typically not a problem because it only takes an hour.

The rain will be good for our squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers that fortunately did not need picking while we were on vacation but there will 4 good size squash that I picked upon our return and were immediately cut and cooked with onions.

Vacations never end too soon and always end with us returning home which for me is the best part of the vacation even if it is to face two days of rain...
