Down at Myrtle Beach, SC

My wife and I have already enjoyed 4 days down here at Myrtle Beach and during those days, there has been no rain, at least during the daytime beach hours which ends for us at 4:00 pm when LACK's Beach Service picks up the chairs and umbrellas and puts them away for tomorrow.  The ocean surf and undercurrent has also been relatively calm for all those 4 days as well.  When we leave our motel to get something to eat and do a little shopping, we witness social distancing taking place at the restaurants and most everyone wearing face masks as far as the visitors are concerned and ALL THE WORKERS wherever we go wear face masks.  However, most everywhere we go we discover that most shops are closing at 6:00 pm with a few staying open until 8:00 pm which is substantially earlier than last year.

As far as our room is concerned, we always get an ocean front or facing room which has a living room and kitchen and bathroom with a bedroom that is separated by a door so that I can go to bed early and not be disturbed and my wife can sleep in after I get up without being disturbed as well.

Our desired rate that we feel is reasonable is $1200 for 6 days or $200/night and we actually use that rate to decide if we stay 5 days, 6 days, or 7 days.  Our budget for Myrtle Beach is roughly $2000/visit which includes motel, meals, snack foods, shopping, and gasoline coming and going which is usually a tank there and a tank back with no more than a tank while we are there.

Our trip down to Myrtle Beach takes about 6 hours and we stop at least once to get something to eat, stretch our legs, use the bathroom and get gas...  we are typically there about 20-30 minutes.  If we need to stop for the bathroom, we are in and out in less than 5 minutes.
