My wife and I arrived in Destin, Florida two days ago and once we checked in at the office and found the location of our Condo, we rudely discovered that our keys would not work... We waited for the office worker to bring over the back up keys and after an hour she finally arrive and those keys would not work... IMAGINE THAT... she called the maid service who had cleaned the condo the day before for us to use until a locksmith could be contracted... later that day we got working keys... but, after the locksmith left, the main television in the living area would not work and neither did the coffee maker when I tried to make coffee ahead of time to be heated in the microwave the next day.
Yesterday, we received a new coffee pot and technicians arrive a couple of hours after that to reconnect our wires since the previous renters had decided they wanted to connect a variety of unapproved devices
WHAT A WELCOME...
Two years ago, when we had visited Destin for the first time, we had booked our condo in March to get away from the colder weather in TN and had no problems with our condo at that time nor did we encounter a lot of traffic; however, this was not the case this time when we arrived. First of all, our arrival was two months later and add that with the COVID Pandemic, vacationers finally were able to leave their homes.
THE TRAFFIC IS HORRENDOUS...
My wife and I decided that there really wasn't very much in Destin for us to do and it did not seem worth the 8+ hour drive time to get here when Myrtle Beach, SC is only 6+ hours drive and while the traffic is the same, there are plenty of activities for us and the cost of a vacation in Myrtle Beach is substantially less than it is at Destin. Therefore, we can visit MB more often and pay less each visit... so it seems like a NO BRAINER...
