Oblivious To It All

Most of the young people with whom I engage in conversation (ages 35-55) don't really give a damn

about what is going on in the United States because most of these people do not listen to the news nor do they read a newspaper other than what is going on locally.

They have no idea about:

• HR1
• Possible tax increases
• increases in Corporate Tax
• Increases in Capital Gains Tax
• Problem at the border
• China's quest for global power
• China and Iran coalition
• North Korea challenges Biden

And...  the list goes on and on and on...  Do they not care about politics?  No...  they answer...  they do care and they do vote...  but, they just don't find the in between very interesting...  and, whoever wins or whatever party controls...  well...  that is no interest to them outside of receiving a stimulus check or receiving more benefits.  They have no idea about the National Debt and who has loaned us money or if we ever plan to pay it off.

They grumble about increased gasoline prices but they have no interest in trying to solve the problem...  as it belongs to someone else and they will just adjust however they need to adjust to buy what gasoline they need.

They are just going with the FLOW and don't care if the flow is Republican, Democratic, or Socialistic and as as they get to do basically what they are doing now.  There is little motivation to do whatever they need to do to earn more money...  as long as they have enough money to continue doing what they are doing.  If they need more money then they will volunteer for overtime or work a second job...  no big deal.

They will go on whatever vacation it is that they can afford or reasonably borrow money for and not worry about wishing they do do something else or go somewhere else.  They are uniquely oblivious to everything around them except that which impacts them directly their job or driving defensively.
